Galaxy A90 may be the First Phone with a Pop-Up Camera by Samsung

The South Korean Giant is all set to unveil its upcoming flagship devices of this year at the Galaxy Unpack event scheduled later this month. Now, there are rumors that the company is working on a new device called as Samsung Galaxy A90, which could feature the companies first pop of camera. This midrange device is said to be a replacement of the Galaxy A9 series and will feature a mechanical camera like what we have seen on the Vivo NEX S.

In order to keep thin bezels size, the smartphone makers are using punch-hole displays or a notch on their handsets and Pop-up camera is another way to trim down the bezels. Since the pop-up camera will be mechanical, there will be many questions on its durability since the motor has to push the camera in and out regularly. Moreover, these devices are not IP rated for water resistance since there is a possibility of water leakage and even the Vivo NEX S did receive the IP certification.

The information has been tweeted by a leakster – Ice Universe and it is also rumored to be coming with 6GB to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Galaxy A9 which was released last year in the month of November was the first device to feature a quad rear-camera setup and this device might be replaced with the Galaxy A90 later the year. Moreover, the Galaxy A9 (2018) came with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display which is powered with a 3800mAh battery on the back.
