LG W30 & W30 Pro With U Drop Notch Display Launched

LG India had unveiled its new W series in the country. LG has been teasing about the new W series launch with its Amazon India Exclusive teasers for quite a while now. And, yesterday the Korean tech giant had launched three variants under the W series categorized to different price brackets. The new W series phone from LG include the LG W30, W30 Pro and the LG W10. While the LG W 10 smartphone comes as an entry-level smartphone in the new W series, the LG W30, and the W30 Pro come under budget to mid-range segment in the market.

LG W30, it comes with a 6.26-inch HD+ U FullVision Water Drop notched display that achieves a screen to body ratio of 86% thanks to the minimal bezels. The 19:9 aspect ratio display on the W30 comes with customizable notch wherein you can either opt to conventional V notch display or the U notch display, or you can totally hide the notch to achieve a full-screen display with significant bezel on the top. This FullVision display is hosted in a uni-body design-build with three cameras on the back alongside a fingerprint scanner as well.

W30 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, which is an octa-core processor built on 12nm FinFET process. The octa-core CPU is paired with IMG PowerVR GE8320GPU. The W30 is further equipped with 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage as well. And, the W30 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 632 SoC. The devices ship with Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box.

LG W30 comprises triple rear cameras, as stated earlier. The W30 comes with a 12MP primary camera Sony IMX486 Camera Sensor along with a 13MP wide-angle camera coupled with a 2MP depth sensor. These rear cameras are capable of shooting Super wide angle shots up to 100-degrees, and the 12MP camera also acts as a low light camera whereas the 13MP acts as wide angle camera. W30 packs in a 16MP selfie shooter on the top notch of the display.

The LG W30 comes with built-in Google Assistant and Google Lens along with OTG and Screen Case features as well. And, lastly the LG W30 packs in a decent 4000mAh battery. As for the pricing, the Dual VoLTE powered LG W30 will be available in India for Rs 9,999 for the 3GB+32GB variant. The LG W30 will be featuring in Aurora Green, Platinum Grey, and Thunder Blue Color variants. The price of the W30 Pro variant is yet to be known. As stated earlier, the LG W30 would be sold as Amazon Exclusive in the country and the first sale starts on the 3rd of July.
