Redmi 7A Launched with Snapdragon 439 SoC in India

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched the successor to the Redmi 6A the Redmi 7A in India. This new 7A gets added to the company’s budget ‘A’ series smartphone portfolio. The company claims the new Redmi 7A as ‘Smart Desh Ka smartphone.’ Xiaomi had launched the Redmi 7A earlier in May for the Chinese markets and its the same variant that has been launched in India as well.

Redmi 7A comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The new budget smartphone from Redmi offers a uni-body metal design with a matte finish. The device is said to be including an inbuilt FM Antenna band as well. The Redmi 7A is also said to be splash proof, which should save the device from water spills. The Redmi 7A comes with rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and as well as AI Face Unlock, for authentication.

Under the hood, the Redmi 7A comes with a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 439 SoC, which is built on a 12nm process that has clock speeds of up to 2GHz. The device is further equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16/32GB of onboard storage. As for cameras, the Redmi 7A will be featuring a 12MP AI-powered camera, which is said to be a Sony IMX 486 sensor that was earlier featured in the Mi A2 smartphone. On the front, the Redmi 7A gets a 5MP selfie shooter which also includes AI-powered features including AI Beauty camera, background blur.

Redmi 7A smartphone packs in a 4000mAh battery capacity. As for the pricing, the latest Redmi 7A starts at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB+16GB variant, and the larger 2GB+32GB is priced at Rs 6,199. Since Mi has been in the country for five years now, the company is offering an introductory price of Rs 5,799 on Flipkart, Mi Home, and Mi.com as well. The sale is said to be starting from 11th July at 12 PM. The device will be available in three color variants including Matte Black, Matte Gold, and Matte Blue variant.
