Redmi Note 8 series is official. After a number of teasers and leaks, Xiaomi on Thursday unveiled the new lineup at an event in Beijing. Redmi Note 8 series is launching with two smartphones Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. Redmi Note 8 Pro is the first officially announced smartphone in the world with a 64 MP camera.
Redmi Note 8
Redmi Note 8 features a 6.39-inch full-HD+ screen, same as the company’s Redmi K20 phone, with 90% screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone includes Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back and houses a waterdrop-style notch up front. It is powered by latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, paired with up to 6GB of RAM.
Redmi Note 8 includes Quad Camera main one is 48MP with the latest Samsung ISOCELL GM2 sensor. Others are an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP dedicated macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The front panel sports a notch for the 13MP selfie camera.
Redmi Note 8 include 4,000mAh battery with 18W charging and USB-C port. The phone will sell in Black, White, Dream Blue, and will start from CNY999 for the 4GB + 64GB option. There are two more choices, though 6GB + 64GB for CNY1,199 and 6GB + 128GB for CNY1,399.
Redmi Note 8 Pro
Redmi Note 8 Pro features 6.53-inch full-HD+ screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, waterdrop-style notch and Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back. As expected, the phone is powered by MediaTek’s new gaming focussed Helio G90T SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. Xiaomi has also added liquid cooling support in the smartphone to improve the gaming experience for the Redmi Note 8 Pro users.
Redmi Note 8 Pro features quad camera vertical setup in the middle of the panel. Looking into detail, there are 64MP main shooter is accompanied by the same 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP depth + 2MP macro combo as in the Redmi Note 8. On the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera on board.
Redmi Note 8 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery with support of 18W fast charging. Redmi Note 8 Pro available in Black, Green, and White, this phone will arrive in September. The price is starting from CNY1,399 for the 6GB + 64GB option and goes as high as CNY1,799 for the 8GB + 128GB variant.
