Redmi had launched its budget and mid-range smartphones the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India, earlier this year. And, yesterday the Chinese manufacturer had launched yet another mid-range smartphone, which is a selfie-centric smartphone. Xiaomi had launched the successor to the Redmi Y2 smartphone the Redmi Y3 that features a 32MP selfie shooter, which is the first from the company in this price bracket smartphones. The Redmi Y series phones have been popular amongst the users with sales of up to 7 million since launch.
Redmi Y3 comes with dual rear cameras on the back. The device features a 12MP primary rear camera with an aperture of f/2.2, which is further paired by a 2MP secondary depth-sensing camera as well. These rear cameras are AI-powered with 33 screen recognition capabilities. The dual rear cameras support Electronic Image Stabilization and xiaomi had also integrated built-in Google Lens within the camera interface as well.
Redmi Y3 under the hood is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC, which is a 14nm build octa-core processor paired with Adreno 506 GPU. On the storage front, the Redmi Y3 is offered in two storage variants, a 3GB + 32GB and a 4GB + 64GB variants respectively. There’s an optional storage expansion too with the support of up to 512GB via microSD card.
Redmi Y3 is further kept alive a decent 4000mAh battery and the device runs on Xiaomi’s MIUI 10, which is based on Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie. The Redmi Y3 will be featuring in three different gradient color variants that include Prime Black, Bold Red, and Elegant Blue.
Redmi Y3 is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB + 32GB variant and the larger 4GB + 64GB of the Y3 is priced at Rs 11,999. The first sale of the Redmi Y3 has been scheduled on April 30th and the device is sold as Amazon Exclusive alongside Mi website and Mi offline stores as well.
