Vivo announced the 120W fast charging technology at the MWC Shanghai in China. The new fast-charging technology is officially named as “Vivo Super FlashCharge 120W” and is the worlds fastest charging technology. Back in March 2019, Xiaomi announced the 100W fast charging technology. However, the company hasn’t announced any new smartphones supporting the 120W Super FlashCharge technology.
Vivo introduced the 44W fast charging technology with the Vivo iQOO smartphone which is the company’s fastest charging technology till date. Now, the new 120W Super FlashCharge technology can offer a maximum charging output of 20V at 6A. According to the company, the Super FlashCharge technology can charge a smartphone with 4000mAh battery from 0% to 50% in just 5 minutes and takes a total of 13 minutes to reach 100% charging.
Just like any other proprietary charging solutions, the Vivo Super FlashCharge 120W also supports only when the supported device charged with the customized adapter and USB type-C cable provided by the company. Just like OPPO’s VOOC Charge and OnePlus’s Warp Charge, Vivo will also replace the voltage reducing circuit with the Micro Controller Unit (MCU). The MCU will be placed inside the charging adapter and protects the device from voltage overload.
It also solves the heating issue which commonly occurs while charging any device. As seen with the current Dual Engine fast charging technology, Talking about the security, the Battery Management System (BMS) will ensure to balance the battery charging capacities to offer long battery life. The two-channel IC is used for optimal power management.
