Xiaomi announce Mi MIX Alpha 5G concept phone

Xiaomi launched several products at a launch event that took place in China yesterday. One of the products that launched at the event yesterday is the Mi MIX Alpha. Mi MIX Alpha is the successor to the Mi MIX 3 that launched last year. There are several key highlights of the Mi MIX Alpha like the Surround Display 180.6% Screen to Body Ratio , 108MP camera sensor, among other things.

Mi MIX Alpha comes with Surround Display that offers an immersive experience to the users. Mi MIX Alpha is an all-glass phone. It includes glass on the back and also on the front. The top and bottom edges of the Mi MIX Alpha are made with a combination of titanium alloy, ceramics, and sapphire.

Mi MIX Alpha includes a black strip on the back panel that includes the cameras and the sensors. The black strip includes a 108MP Samsung camera sensor. The sides of the Mi MIX Alpha are pressure sensitive.

Mi MIX Alpha comes with a massive 7.92-inch flexible OLED screen that offers a screen resolution of 2088×2250 pixels. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus paired with 12GB of RAM. The device comes with a 4,050mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. On the software front, the Mi MIX Alpha runs MIUI Alpha operating system.

Mi Mix Alpha comes with triple camera setup on the back panel and single sensor on the front. On the back, the Mi MIX Alpha comes with a primary 108MP Samsung HMX sensor, a 20MP wide-angle camera, and a 12MP camera for clicking portrait shots. There’s no selfie camera on the Mi MIX Alpha.

As for the pricing the Mi Mix Alpha concept device is priced at CNY 19,999 (Around Rs 2 lakh). For now, there are no words whether the Mi MIX Alpha will be in mass production anytime soon or not. Xiaomi, however, has confirmed that it will produce a limited batch of Mi MIX Alpha at the end of December this year
