ASUS Zenfone 6 with Snapdragon 855 and Flip Camera Launched

ASUS has officially unveiled the Zenfone 6 flagship smartphone at an event held in Valencia, Spain. The flagship Zenfone smartphones always came with top-notch hardware and an aggressive price tag. With the Zenfone 6, the company is sticking to the same mantra. Talking about the design, the Zenfone 6 comes with a 3D curved glass body with an aluminum frame.

While the rear of the device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the front comes with Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The device sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) with no notch or bezels. The ASUS Zenfone 6 could be the only Snapdragon 855 powered smartphone to come with an IPS panel. However, the display offers 600 nits of brightness and comes with 92% screen-to-body ratio. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Zen UI skin on top.

The device comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage up to 2TB. Coming to the cameras, the Zenfone 6 comes with just two sensors on the rear. The company is calling this setup as Flip camera.

It sports 48MP primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture and 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 125-degree field-of-view. These same cameras can also be flipped to the front for capturing selfies. The camera can also record 4K 60fps video with EIS enabled.

The device measures 158.94 x 75.58 x 9.6 mm and weighs 195 grams. It will be available in Twilight Silver and Midnight Black color options. Talking about the pricing, the base variant of the Zenfone 6 with 6GB + 64GB of internal storage will be costing EUR 499. It also comes in 6GB + 128GB will cost EUR 559 and 8GB + 256GB storage variants priced at EUR 599. On top of all these features, the company is also offering two years manufacturers warranty.
