Samsung has finally unpacked its ‘A Galaxy Event’ in Bangkok yesterday. The Korean tech giant has announced its new Galaxy A series of smartphones at the event by unveiling its new smartphones the Galaxy A70 and the Galaxy A80. The company had also announced that the Galaxy J series is now replaced by the new Galaxy A series smartphone line-up.
The Galaxy A80 sports a new Infinity Display without any notch or front-facing camera, which is the company’s first smartphone to feature the new full-screen display. The display doesn’t feature a speaker grille as well; instead, the sound generates under the display. The Galaxy A80 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ (1080×2400) Super AMOLED display.
Integrating the rotating camera with the pop-up mechanism is something new that Samsung has done with the Galaxy A80. This allows users to capture selfies with the rear cameras as well. Digging into the specifications of the cameras, the A80 features a 48MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an ultra-wide 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 3D depth camera as well.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A80 is powered by the newly announced Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G SoC, which is focused on enhanced gaming capabilities and the device is also equipped with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Galaxy A80 features On-screen fingerprint sensor for authentication, and the device is kept alive by a 3700mAh battery that also comes with 25W Super Fast Charging support.
The Galaxy A80 ships with Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box and the device will be featuring in Phantom Black, Angel Gold, and Ghost White color variants. The Pricing of both the Galaxy devices is yet to be known.
