Samsung Galaxy Watch Active Launched in India for Rs 19990

Samsung yesterday launched the Galaxy Watch Active in the Indian market. It was introduced alongside the Galaxy S10 smartphones in February this year. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is priced at Rs 19,990 and comes in Black, Rose Gold, Silver, and Green color options. It can be purchased online via Amazon India and Samsung Online Store starting today. The company will also sell its latest smartwatch via offline retailers across the country.

The Galaxy Watch Active sports a 1.1-inch circular AMOLED display with 360 by 360 pixels resolution and Always-on Display support. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the top. It is powered by the Exynos 9110 dual-core processor clocked at 1.15GHz. The smartwatch comes packed with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Talking about the sensor, the Galaxy Watch Active features Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer, Heart Rate Monitoring, and Ambient Light sensor.

It comes loaded with fitness features to track exercise, sleep, stress, and more. With the My BP app, the Galaxy Watch Active users can monitor their blood pressure. It runs on Tizen-based Wearable OS 4.0 out of the box with One UI skin laid on top. The Galaxy Watch Active comes with IP68 certification which makes it water resistance up to 50 meters. As the name suggests, it also MIL-STD-810G certified for its durability.

While the watch is very much fitness-orientated, what with its heart rate, calorie burn, and other activity related tracking and features, Samsung did say it’s a fully-fledged smartwatch, punctuating that point by saying it has more than 60,000 watch faces to choose from. And it’ll work with Android 5.0 devices and above and iPhones iOS 9.0 or above.
