Xiaomi Mi 9 SE with Snapdragon 712 Launched in China

Xiaomi has launched its new flagship Mi 9 smartphone in China today. Alongside the Mi 9, the company had also unveiled its Mi 9 Explorer Edition smartphone as well. While these phones cater to the premium segment, Xiaomi had also launched the cheaper variant of the Mi 9 flagship phone called – the Mi 9 SE. This is believed to be the successor to the Mi 8 SE, which was released last year.

The Mi 9 SE features 5.97-inch AMOLED FHD+ display that features a water drop notch, which is further protected by a 2.5D curved glass and more also offers a screen-to-body-ratio of 90.47%. This display is enclosed in gradient finish body build and is further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5-gen. The Mi 9 SE is powered by a Snapdragon 712 SoC, which is the first phone to feature this new chipset by Qualcomm. This new SoC is said to be 2x higher in terms of performance.

The Mi 9 SE features in two storage variants a 6GB+64GB and a 6GB+128GB storage variants. In terms of optics, the MI 9 SE offers a triple rear cameras setup that includes – a 48MP primary camera sensor paired with a 13MP wide-angle 123-degree camera and an 8MP telephoto lens. These cameras support several modes that include AI Scene detection mode, AI Short video modes. On the front, the Mi 9 SE comes equipped with a 20MP selfie shooter, which is beheld by the notch on the top.

The Mi 9 SE comes with In-display fingerprint scanner for authentication. And lastly, it is fuelled by a 3070mAh battery that supports quick charge with an 18W adapter. As for the pricing, the Mi 9 SE 6GB+64GB variant is priced at 1999 Yuan(297.42$), and the larger 6GB+128GB is priced at 2299 Yuan(342.06$). The Mi 9 SE is featured in three color variants that include  Holographic IllusionBlue Holographic Illusion, and  Deep Gray.
