New Redmi phone Likely to be called Redmi K20 and K20 Pro

Redmi became a separate entity in China. During the Redmi Note 7 Pro launch. Redmi has been teasing about its upcoming flagship smartphone from the last couple of months. It will be the first-ever Redmi smartphone to come with a flagship chipset. According to the latest reports, the company will launch the flagship devices under the new K-series. Redmi will actually launch not one but two new flagship smartphones called Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro.

Both these devices will be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform built on 7nm FinFET node. As per the earlier leaks, the Redmi K20 smartphones might come with true bezel-less displays offer higher screen-to-body ratio. These devices will also sport pop-up selfie camera and in-display fingerprint scanner. Today, the company’s GM also mentioned these flagship Redmi smartphones to support Android Q Beta 3 update out of the box. The Redmi K20 smartphones should be running on Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10 out of the box.

While the Redmi K20 comes in 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB storage options, the Redmi K20 Pro will be available in 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB storage options. As seen with the other Redmi smartphones, we also expect these flagship devices to come with MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. Xiaomi long back stopped offering expandable storage option on their Mi branded flagship smartphones. The upcoming Redmi K20 smartphones will be available in Carbon Fiber Black, Glacier Blue, and Flame Red color options.
