World’s popular chipset maker Qualcomm had recently showcased its 5G capabilities with its X50 modem at MWC a couple of weeks ago. The company has been in the news for its latest and powerful Snapdragon 855 SoC as well. The newest SD 855 chipset has already been in the market with the devices like Samsung Galaxy S10 and Sony Xperia, and there are a ton of more flagship devices to come with the latest SoC in the coming months as well.
According to Android Authority report, Qualcomm had silently updated the official specification tables of its earlier released Snapdragon SoCs. The updated lists suggest us that earlier released chipsets including – Snapdragon 670, SD 675, SD 710, SD 845 and the latest Snapdragon 855 are surprisingly capable of capturing photos of up to 192MP. Yes, these chipsets can support images that can be captured in 192MP resolution.
The updated specifications by Qualcomm has prominently included two important parameters, which are the Multi-Frame Noise Reduction (MFNR) and Zero Shutter Lag (ZSL). While the former helps in shooting several photos and stacking them together and reducing the noise, the latter helps in, as the name suggests, quickly opens the camera and captures the image without any lag. To conclude, lesser the processing obstacles better the resolution, as stated in the report.
